Begin your journey into portrait painting with this comprehensive workshop focused on portraits in oils.
In this workshop you will learn the fundamentals of portrait painting through step-by-step instructions and demonstrations.
The workshop will cover essential techniques, including mixing skin tones, blocking in the head with loose brushstrokes and capturing a likeness. You'll work from photographic reference images, making this workshop accessible for all skill levels.
No prior experience is required. All materials will be provided.
The workshop is limited to just four people and will take place at Richard’s studio in Barnsley town centre. (Please note that the studio is located up two flights of stairs with no lift access). There is ample parking near to the studio which is just a short walk from Barnsley Interchange. Further details as to the studio location and where to park etc. will be sent out after booking your workshop place.
All materials and equipment are provided as well as refreshments but please bring a packed lunch. Alternatively, there are a range of cafés in the vicinity of the venue with excellent food, please ask for recommendations.
